You are invited to TAPAS: A Taste of the Arts

TAMPA— The public is invited to a free afternoon of visual and performance art titled TAPAS: A Taste of the Arts, Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in the Hillsborough Community College Ybor Arts Building..

Each year, by invitation, a new select group of artists presents a memorable afternoon of theater, music, visual arts and dance. This year awarded and recognized artists have also chosen their favorite artist, or an artist of interest to take part.

The 2010 fourth annual TAPAS: A Taste of the Arts Participating Artists of Excellence and their guests include visual artists Suzanne Camp Crosby, Jeremy Chandler, Kim Radatz, Phyliss McEwen, Taylor Ikin, Donna Morrison, Jason Fondron and Jon Rodriguez. Music, theater, poetry and dance will be offered by Sam Koppleman and Pamela Epps, Paul Kiesling, Lynne Wimmer, Silvia Curbelo, Jayne Trinette and chosen guests.

The gallery of the Hillsborough Community College Ybor Arts Building will feature this afternoon exhibition of visual art and the college Black Box Theatre will host the theater, music, poetry and dance performances.

The event is presented by the Arts Council of Hillsborough County’s Artist Advisory Committee(AAC). The group uses TAPAS: A Taste of the Arts as a vehicle to present a variety of disciplines in one event, hopefully exposing audience members to new works and talented local artists.

The event is free to the public with donations are welcome at the door. Any donations will be used by the Artist Advisory Committee to present additional community events. Free light refreshments and beverages will be available.

Hillsborough Community College Ybor Arts Building is located at 2112 N. 15th Street.

The AAC Committee is comprised of established artists of all disciplines from across Hillsborough County and acts as a liaison with the Arts Council of Hillsborough County to encourage artistic participation raise the awareness of artists and their intrinsic benefit to the community, and to facilitate the building of an artistic community.
